Head Coach: Scott Drevitch
The 98 Hub city team traveled to the Montreal Warrior Meltdown. It was a great trip for all the kids and parents. The team played hard and never gave up. The team was in every game, with scores of 7 -2,
3 -5, 3 -3, 2 -3. Going 1-2-1 and missing the playoffs by a goal. Here is a recap of the games and the roster:
Game 1
The 98 Hub City team played the Scotia McLeod Selects from Nova Scotia Canada. After letting up the first goal :15 seconds into the game and falling behind 0 - 2 it did not look good but ex- Bridgewater Bandit Noah Strawn (BU Terriers) started the scoring in the second and it was all Hub City after that. All the players played hard and it showed. Bridgewater Bandit Logan Drevitch led all scorers with 2 goals and 2 assists. Other goals were scored by Brandon Waterman (Providence Capitals), Jimmy Rose (CD Selects), William LeMay (Roadrunners), and JD Dietrich (SS Kings) Final score 7 - 2.
Game 2
Playing a very good NB Stars team from New Brunswick Canada. Hub City got off to a slugish start and fell behind
0 - 2. After a team timeout the boys got back on track and tied the score 2- 2. The game was tied 3 - 3 late in the third But in the end the Bandits could not hold off the Stars losing 3 - 5. Goals scorers were William LeMay, Matt Hammel (Bu Terriers), Hakon Nilson
Game 3
After having a great team meal together Friday night, the Hub City team came ready to play on Saturday morning, playing a very good Thunders team, an all star team from North side of Montreal. Jimmy Rose (CD Selects) got Hub City on the board first with a pretty passing play form Brandon Waterman (Providence Capitals) and Logan Drevitch (Bridgewater Bandits). The Thunders came on strong in the second and took a 3 - 1 lead before William LeMay got Hub City back to with in one. Setting up a frantic fast paced 3rd period. With Hub City putting intense pressure on the Thunder net, with :51 seconds left in the game William LeMay got his second of the game, from Logan Drevitch and Matt Hammel (BU Terriers). A great effort by all to earn the 3 - 3 tie.
Game 4
Playing the Montreal Metro Blades, Hub City came out strong once again but the Blades putting on good pressure got on the board first. On another nice passing play, Brandon Waterman from Logan Drevitch and Jimmy Rose got Hub City even at 1 -1. The Blades were buzzing but Bailey Strangis (Bridgewater Bandits) came up big with some great saves. The game was fast and furious and late in the third period with Hub City down by one, Hub City received a penalty shot, faking out the goalie, open net, but unfortunately hitting the post. Everyone in the building thought we had a tied game. The Blades would add another with a minute to go but Hub City would keep battling with Logan Drevitch scoring to get Hub City with in one but that is how it would end, losing 3 -2.
